The gospel of Jesus Christ has something to say about how Christians are to respond to unjust suffering. In the book of 1 Peter, Peter describes the attributes of Christian community as having a unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. How Christians respond to abuse, hatred, and suffering speaks volumes about who God is and what Christians believe He has done for them.
