As of February 2022
Beginning Thursday, February 10, Central will no longer require masks to attend our Sunday worship services or other church programming for those who are fully vaccinated (two weeks have elapsed since your final dose or single-shot dose). Individuals who are not vaccinated must continue to wear a mask over their mouth and nose for the entire time they are inside the church.
Our updated protocols are in response to the latest guidance from New York State and NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH). Throughout the pandemic we have not deviated from their guidance, and we continue to trust the recommendations from our health experts.
It is our hope and expectation that congregants continue to be mindful of others and stay home if they are sick or have had any symptoms (fever over 100, cough or sore throat, shortness of breath, confirmed COVID-19 contact) within the last 14 days.
For those who prefer to worship with us online, we will continue to offer the livestream of our 10am Sunday worship service.
Questions regarding Central’s health and safety guidelines should be directed to Dan Miracola, Director of Finance & Operations, at dmiracola@centralchurchnyc.org.

The health and safety of our congregation continue to be one of our top priorities. Throughout the pandemic we have not deviated from New York State and NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH)’s guidance, and we continue to trust the recommendations from our health experts.

Health and Safety Guidelines for All In-Person Events Beginning September 28, 2020
We are grateful to be meeting for in-person events during this time, and we are making every effort to keep all those who walk through our doors safe. The changes we have made to protect our congregation and guests include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Limiting the capacity for all in-person events to 33% of the space’s maximum occupancy
- Requiring registration for all gatherings
- Adhering to and facilitating social distancing
- Requiring masks be worn at all time while in the church building
- Increasing cleaning frequency and using sprayers to disinfect rooms before and after use
- Improving our ventilation and air filtration systems
We strongly encourage people who are in vulnerable populations to stay home. According to the CDC, vulnerable populations which are at risk are those over 65 years of age, especially those with chronic lung disease; moderate to severe asthma; chronic heart disease; severe obesity; diabetes; chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis; liver disease; or weakened immune system.
If you have had any of the following symptoms or have been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days, we ask that you please stay home.
- Fever Over 100
- Cough or Sore Throat
- Shortness of Breath

Second In-Person Worship Service at 11:30am Beginning September 20, 2020

Limited Reopening: Sunday Service with Livestream Beginning June 28, 2020 10:00 a.m.
We are excited to announce that Central will be reopening its doors for in-person worship services at 10:00 a.m beginning on Sunday, June 28. For the safety of our community and in accordance with CDC guidelines, we will have limited capacity and therefore will require registration for all who plan to attend. Registration will be available starting each Monday at 12:00 p.m. (noon) prior to the upcoming Sunday and can be found on our website or the Central Church NYC app.
If you are unable to attend in-person, we invite you to watch our new livestream! You can watch the service at centralchurchnyc.org/live or on YouTube. If you are at higher risk for severe illness or have experienced any related symptoms in the past 14 days, we kindly ask that you continue to worship online.
For those planning to attend in-person, you must register beforehand; no walk-ins will be permitted at this time. Once the service has reached max attendance for that Sunday, we encourage you to join us online in worship. Each Sunday morning, we will have volunteers ready to guide you on where to enter the sanctuary, where to sit, and where to exit at the end of the service so that we can maintain social distancing practices. There will be no childcare, children’s worship, or coffee hour at this time. For families with young children, there will be an optional livestream available on the 6th floor. If you would like to make use of that room, please email Gretchen Roth at groth@centralchurchnyc.org for further details.
The health and safety of our congregation continue to be one of our top priorities. To that end, we will continue to follow the CDC guidelines and the New York City and State requirements as we move into this new phase. We encourage you to reach out with any questions, or you can also read more about our Sunday services here.
We look forward to seeing you in person or online each Sunday!
