Office Manager

Hours worked: Full-time position with benefits

Reports to: Senior Director of Finance and Operations

Central is seeking an Office Manager who has a passion for serving the church and advancing the mission of Central. The Office Manager’s primary responsibility is to provide operational and administrative support to Central’s staff while overseeing and coordinating events that occur throughout the week. This person will not only work directly with Central staff, volunteers, and congregants, but also serve as a liaison between the church and external groups and tenants. The office manager will work under the direction of the Senior Director of Finance and Operations and play an integral role on Central’s growing staff. The ideal candidate has gained at least 5 years of work experience in administration and has a proven track record of demonstrating versatility in the workplace and a willingness to anticipate and proactively meet needs as they arise. 

Main Responsibilities

Office Management/Administration

  • Manage the ongoing office administration for Central’s staff including the church’s main email inbox, phone, and mail
  • Maintain a clean and organized office
  • Check and maintain food and supply inventories weekly
  • Order office supplies as needed 
  • Order food and kitchen supplies for various programs
  • Troubleshoot IT problems
  • Provide HR support in areas such as onboarding and insurance benefits
  • Maintain the church-wide calendar
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure alignment with various calendars and meeting spaces
  • Document action steps from meetings and communicate them to the appropriate people
  • Track pertinent information from worship services such as attendance, contact cards, and prayer requests
  • Maintain event management software
  • Manage Central’s database
  • Assist with the processing of various Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tasks
  • Process reimbursement requests
  • Filter emails, voicemails, personal conversations, and meetings at the discretion of the Senior Pastor

Event Coordination

  • Field inquiries on space rental requests and provide rental support as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between Central and its tenants
  • Coordinate staff events such as lunches and retreats
  • Assist with the planning and execution of weekly and special events
  • Coordinate with staff regarding food, supplies, logistics, meeting spaces, and audio/visual needs for events
  • Provide onsite support for weekly and special events, as needed
  • Troubleshoot event logistic issues, as needed


  • 5+ years of experience in office operations or similar work
  • Professional demeanor and demonstrated Christian character
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Great multitasker and resourceful problem solver
  • Self motivated with a desire and propensity to continually learn
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Flexible and willing to do any and all tasks, great or small, with joy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • IT Experience

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports weekly to the Senior Director of Finance and Operations.
  • Attends weekly church staff meetings.
  • Works collaboratively with the Communications team to manage all communications with the staff and congregation.
