Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor

Hours worked: Full-time; Mon-Fri

Reports to: Director of Strategic Development and Communications

Central is seeking an Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor who has a passion for sharing the gospel and advancing the mission of Central. The ideal candidate has at least five years of work experience in administration and has a proven track record of handling highly sensitive and personal information in a trustworthy manner. This newly-created position will play an integral role on Central’s growing staff, working closely with the Senior Pastor and the Director of Strategic Development and Communications. Due to the confidential nature of the role, the ideal candidate is someone outside the Central community. 

Main Responsibilities

Schedule & Calendar Management

  • Maintain the Senior Pastor’s calendar and schedule appointments as needed
  • Track requests of the Senior Pastor
  • Filter emails, voicemails, personal conversations and meetings at the discretion of the Senior Pastor

Coordination & Event Planning

  • Coordinate Senior Pastor’s speaking engagements and filming
  • Arrange travel and accommodations as needed
  • Assist Senior Pastor in tracking expenses 
  • Provide event planning services for fundraising and other events

Communications & Database Management

  • Assist in the management of the web-based sermon library and sermon podcast
  • Assist in the management of the Senior Pastor’s podcast of interviews and lectures as needed
  • Prepare thank you notes and gifts
  • Assistant in the management of Central’s database

Editing & Research

  • Create transcripts of Senior Pastor’s past sermons
  • Edit articles and other communications
  • Manage the Senior Pastor’s personal library of resources as needed
  • Perform research for various biblical, theological and cultural projects
  • Work alongside the Communications team

Miscellaneous

  • Handle the Senior Pastor’s one-off requests
  • Attend meetings with the Senior Pastor and follow up on projects and events
  • Document action steps from meetings and communicate them to the appropriate people

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in administration and related duties
  • Extremely trustworthy with highly sensitive and personal information; this is of utmost importance
  • Professional demeanor and demonstrated Christian character
  • High attention to detail and ability to anticipate problems
  • Excellent organizational, planning and editing skills
  • Demonstrated research skills across a variety of disciplines
  • Great multitasker and resourceful problem solver
  • Flexible and willing to do any and all tasks, great or small, with joy
  • Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite
